This is a quick guide on how to get Cisco VPN client on Ubuntu 12.04, 12.10, 13.04 and future versions. All you need to install is the NetworkManager that includes support for Cisco IPSec VPN.
Launch your command-line interface or terminal and copy and paste the underlying code;
sudo apt-get install network-manager-vpnc
It installs network-manager-vpnc, network-manager-vpnc-gnome and vpnc
Left click on your network manager applet and choose VPN Connections -> Configure VPN
Now click on Add -> Choose a VPN Connection Type, Select VPN connection type as Cisco Compatible VPN(vpnc) from the drop down menu and click Create. You’re now ready to fill-in your VPN credentials.
