Chromium for Ubuntu now has a stable channel that matches the recently released Google Chrome Stable (Channel) for Linux. First remove other chromium-daily PPAs before adding this one. Google actually decided that Chrome beta for Linux was stable enough to become a Stable, so Chromium Beta and Chromium Stable are the same builds, v5.0.375.55.
Chromium stable includes support for extensions, themes, improved bookmark management, browser preferences and syncing. Just as with Google Chrome stable Adobe Flash player did not make it to Chromium 5 stable release. Developer’s version of Chromium is now on version 6.
Installing Chromium 5 stable;
1 2 | sudo add-apt-repository ppa:chromium-daily/stable sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install chromium-browser |
