Now official! – Firefox 3 gets Guinness World Record

According to the Guinness World Record crew, 8,002,530 people downloaded Firefox 3 on June 18, 2008, thus setting a world record for the “largest number of software downloads in 24 hours.”

For those still using Firefox 2.0.0.x, know that it will be maintained with security and stability updates until mid-December, 2008. You’re advised to upgrade to Firefox 3.
