Solang and Gnote make it into Ubuntu 9.10 Repository

Your mono-free photo manager for Gnome and non, Solang (alternative to F-Spot)) is now included in Ubuntu 9.10 repositories. Karmic Koala users can now install Solang v0.3 from the command-line with sudo apt-get install solang or via the “Ubuntu Software Center”.

Likewise Gnote (a mono-free alternative to Tomboy) also makes it into the Karmic Koala repository. You can get it installed with sudo apt-get install gnote or via the “Ubuntu Software Center”; Applications -> Ubuntu Software Center
Canonical does not provclasse automatic updates for Solang Photo Manger and Gnote, you’ll have to do so manually.

The updates are not manual, just not supported by Canonical for people who have a support contract. Updates will happen through the normal update manager process as this is community maintained software just like the majority of Ubuntu applications not on the default install.
