If You Can’t Import your Thunderbird Contacts then SkypeIt

Linux/Windows: Whilst Skype 4.0 for Windows has support for Outlook contact importing, Skype 2.0 for Linux (poor thing) has no such support, neither for Evolution nor for Thunderbird.
SkypeIt, will not import your Thunderbird contacts, but at least you can make a Skype-to-Skype call directly from your Thunderbird Address Book. More»

Download QuteCom 2.2 RC3 – Free VoIP SoftPhone

Formerly known as WengoPhone , QuteCom softphone is an open-source, multi-platform VoIP client that uses the open protocol SIP – – Session Initiation Protocol.

Whilst the GUI is built on Qt 4.4.0 – – QuteCom looks and feels like Gizmo5 or Skype, the Video-over-IP is based on Ffmpeg’s libavcodec. QuteCom IM is backed by libpurple 2.5.1; the core engine behind the Pidgin IM client.
