Perfectbuntu Script Automates the Installation of Multimedia Codecs, Fonts and More

*BUNTU: Personalizing your Ubuntu 9.04 Jaunty Jackalope: The handy perfectbuntu script automates the installation of Multimedia Codecs and Restricted Extras, fonts for your word processor – msttcorefonts, DVD support, Skype 2.0 for Linux, AWN Dock.
It installs and sets for you 7z, ZIP, Zip64, CAB, RAR, ARJ, and also GZIP, BZIP2, TAR, CPIO, RPM, ISO and DEB archives.
It also installs for you WineHQ and SPAM filters for Evolution – SpamAssassin.

– It automates all these by simply adding and authenticating the appropriate repositories, like the Medibuntu repository for Free and Non-free Components and other PPAs

– – To do all of these, the perfecbuntu script needs your permission. Your only fatigue is to say Yes or No – Y or N. You don’t have to add anything to your repositories. It does that all alone.

Perfectbuntu thinks every *buntu PC needs Xnest – – support for XDMCP (X Display Manager Control Protocol), so installs it automatically without your permission, together with CompizConfig Settings Manager (CCSM) – – an advanced configuration tool for Compiz Fusion.

Can you trust such a script? Yes. It is an “open” script, you can modify it, copy it, add e/o take-off what ever you want – provided you understand what you’re doing.
