Get Ready for Ubuntu One Beta

Ubuntu One Beta

Canonical, the company behind the Ubuntu Linux distribution, is coming up with something new, or something similar to DropBox. From the little information available, Ubuntu one is going to be about – – File syncing between multiple machines.
Being a Canonical product Ubuntu One is going to be highly integrated with your Ubuntu box and you’ll be able to access to your files remotely via an Ubuntu One web service.
The presentation page says, you can opt for a free version, with max 2GB storage or pay a monthly fee of $10.00 (USD) for 10GB storage.
Notes:
– To use Ubuntu One services, you need to be on Ubuntu 9.04.
– A fast Internet Connection is recommended.
– You need Firefox or a similar standards-compliant web browser.
– For now you need to “Request an invitation” at Ubuntuone.com to get started.
