Jolicloud, the Ubuntu based Linux distribution for netbooks will be adding touchscreen support out of the box, come version 1.0. Supported touchscreen technologies include handheld devices such as, HTC Shift X9500, HP Jornada (600 and 700 series), Compaq iPAQ H3600, Samsung NB30 amongst many others. See complete list.
Firefox 3.7 alpha 6, the sixth developer preview of the Gecko 1.9.3 layout engine has been released with several new features since the previous developer preview, Firefox 3.7 alpha 5 that introduced support for the HTML5 audio and video codec WebM, and enabled Aero Glass for Windows Vista and Windows 7.
Mozilla developers have pushed WebM, VP8 codec into Firefox 4, the next major Firefox update. Up till now Google’s open source VP8 codec was present only in a special Firefox development build that you can still download here at Firefox WebM Builds.
Mozilla has released the second release candidate of Thunderbird 3.1, the last RC, cause the final will certainly be released next week. No new features were pushed into Thunderbird 3.1 RC 2, of course, but five bugs were crushed, one critical that affected the Mac build.
