How-to Install SopCast in Ubuntu

This simple guide can be used to install SopCast in Ubuntu 11.10, 12.04 Precise Pangolin, 12.10 Quantal and later versions of Ubuntu. SopCast player adopts the P2P(Peer-to-Peer) technology to broadcast video and audio over the Internet. I’ve written about Sopcast on previous occasions;  here and here. How to install Cisco VPN client on Ubuntu

This is a quick guide on how to get Cisco VPN client on Ubuntu 12.04, 12.10, 13.04 and future versions. All you need to install is the NetworkManager that includes support for Cisco IPSec VPN.

How to Install Java Runtime Environment JRE7 In Ubuntu

Ubuntu 9.10 was the last version to have Java Runtime Environment in its repositories. Since then all other versions come with the community-built OpenJDK that has little or nothing to envy the previous, Oracle’s JRE.
If you installed a recent version of Ubuntu from scratch you certainly don’t have Java Runtime Environment running in the background. Maybe you don’t really need it at all. Ubuntu 11.10, the Oneiric Ocelot, Released

TIME TO TO MOVE ON.
Ubuntu 11,10 codenamed Oneiric Ocelot has been released today 13 October 2011. Users can download the latest version of this free operating system from the Ubuntu project website or upgrade older versions of Ubuntu via the Update Manager. It’s always advisable to backup your documents and configuration files before carrying out any major shake-up of your OS.

The (Ubuntu) online demo exhibits some of the compelling front-end changes in Ubuntu 11.10 that less attentive users might need to know before upgrading.
