Pidgin 2.6.1 that adds Google Talk Voice and Video, released a week ago is now available for upgrade from the repositories. An official .Deb package is not yet available for download from the Pidgin website, yet those who install Pidgin in Ubuntu via the official PPA for Pidgin repository can now carry-out a simple upgrade. Check your System ->Administration -> Update Manager if you’ve not net been notified.

In Firefox 3 Bookmarks and browsing History are stored in SQLite databases. Like any other database, the SQLite databases get fragmented with time, added to that, your default history time span in Firefox 3.5 was increased from 9 to 90 days. These increase the possibility of having a bloated and cumbersome database which subsequently leads to a performance hit; slow access times -- that nobody wants. More»
