Fedora 10 now Available for Download

Fedora 10 is now out. The popular Linux distribution is one of a few that includes both Gnome and KDE desktops. Fedora 10 features GNOME 2.24 and KDE 4.1.2. “The new package qgtkstyle contains a Qt 4 style using GTK+ for drawing, providing better integration of Qt 4 and KDE 4 applications into GNOME.”

Fedora 10 also includes virtualization features, a faster boot start-up process – the GRUB menu no longer shows up at start-up, except on dual-boot systems, OpenOffice.org 3.0, Gimp 2.6, Wireless Connection Sharing, Better webcam support. For more information read through the release notes.
You can download ISO images of CD and DVD media or images of USB flash disks.

Auhors Notes. Fedora used to be my preferred Linux distribution before I switched to Ubuntu. It remains on of the most maintained Linux distros out there. Would be fun trying it out.

gOS 3 Beta includes Google Gadgets

The WebApp Linux distribution, gOS(Good OS), distributed by Wal-Mart now goes version 3.0 This new version bundles up Google Gadgets, making gOS a heavily packed web application Linux distro, given that gOS version 1.0 already includes webapps like Mozilla Firefox, Meebo, Skype, Wikipedia, Facebook and many more .
This beta release also includes Wine 1.0 for a better support of Windows-only applications.

Introducing Sabayon Linux 3.5 – Stable Release

The Italian made Gentoo based Linux distro Sabayon goes 3.5. This version, code name Ibex Poacher, (referring to Ubuntu Ibex Intrepid) comes with many major improvements with respect to previous versions – hardware detection is immediately noticeable. It was rather easy to configure on my old Sony Vaio FR215S, even my external Wireless Card had no issues and playing with the easy-to-setup 3D Desktop that uses Compiz Fusion was fun. More»
